Well the Respawn LAN last weekend was pretty good. 'nuff said :P 4 Comments January 11th 12:34pm by TarzanWithAMobile
Ok ppl,
We are finally going to hold another DRL after all this time. The event will be held at The Odeon at Latrobe University where the last few have been run.
At the request of Phantasm, this time around we're going to make it an over 18 event..... does he have something special in mind that will require it to be over 18? or does he just hate everyone under the age of 18? No one knows, you will have to register for the event and come along to find out. (The event following this one will not be age restricted).
We are currently still in the early stages of planning so more will be revealed as time goes on but anyone that has been to a DRL in the past will know what to expect. FUN COMPS AND PINEAPPLE JUICE. Also battlepainter with a moving projector screen and tug of war always a part of the highlight reel.
To anyone that went to the Game1 event but hasn't been to a DRL before, expect a great LAN with no restrictions on when you can and can't leave the venue.... PLUS, you can also sleep anywhere you like. YES, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT - Eat, Sleep and Wander in and out anytime you like (as long as you have a player tag of course) during the event. We will also be doing a Pizza run and selling drinks at the event as per usual.
....Will we hold another PC throwing competition?
....Will Chode bring another box of Hungry Jacks syrup along for a chugging contest?
....Will Mac the big inflatable Dolphin find a job?
....Will Dan (Phantasm's Dog) eat someone's mouse?

Another sleepless weekend at Latrobe has come and gone. This Shafted LAN like many before it included the usual computer gaming, new games such as Quake 4 were played.
Setup went smoothly as usual we even had time to screw around in the early hours of the AM, what began as hey, here's an old 1gig hdd, lets open it and then run some power through it, woo look at it spin.. now lets scratch it' ended up in it being compleatly destroyed.
Onto Saturday... Well that also all went smoothly, everyone came in and setup to the blissful images of 2 guy's battling it out UFC style on the projector (sorry about that guys, I didn't have anything else on my computer at the time).
About midday someone pulled out a helicopter, yeah, you herd me right. And this was shortly followed by a tank, and this lead to a camera being mounted on the tank and some sort of weird battle going on.... Well, to each their own I guess huh.
We had all sorts of stupid ass shit up on the projector, much of it from google video, people seemed to enjoy that so we'll try and keep that going. Unfortunately some people who don't understand how to control the volume ended up on that pc and turned it up way too loud.. That. We'll try and make sure that doesn't happen again.
Hours went by, you all did your thing as your pc as you do... At some point there was a fight (not cool guys) and people were ejected from the venue. We don't really know what happened, and we don't really care... This is the first time 2 people from an event have resorted to physical violence in my 6 years of lanning and I hope it never happens again.
Now onto less serious business!
 Cold out
So someone thought it'd be a good idea in the spirit of Christmas to get some custard and make people skull it.. It seems to have worked. People enjoyed it.. Although there was a fair bit of mess . And i think some people enjoyed having white creamy stuff on themselves a little too much, see the following images here, here and here.
All the photos can be found here plenty there, some are fairly high res so be carefull :)
I hope to all had fun, we'll keep bringing you these weekends of LANage as long as you keep coming. We are always striving to make it a more enjoyable event for you in any way we can, so please let us know of anything we can do to improve on our events here via the comments and the poll's on our website.
Thanks to KA tech for their support again at our event, and we hope to see them back again next time.
Further info such as comp winners etc to come, keep an eye our here for details on that and our next event! 3 Comments December 15th 03:07pm by shogun

Ok just posting to say that the details page for this event has been updated. Also it should be noted that Pings will be open for this event. 30 Comments December 10th 05:08pm by A
Ok well theres been alot of whingeing, alot of crying, and no offeres of any soloutions or any help in any way shape or form, so heres how the CS comp is going to work.
Standard CS comp rules apply, however there will be 2 comps which combine into 1, that that i mean there will be a single elim bracket for CS 1.6 and another for CS:S. A team can enter ONE OR THE OTHER and no player may play in both CS:S and CS 1.6 (though this will be hard as they will both run at the same time anyway), any player found doing so will be the cause of their team being removed from the comp.
Instead of there being 2 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, there will be 1 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The 1st place teams of the CS 1.6 comp will play off against the 1st placed team in the CS:S comp. It will be best of 3 on CS 1.6, then best of 3 in CS:S. If it ends up as a tie (team 1 CS1.6 1 win, CS:S 2 wins or any other variation) then another round of each will be played till there is a winner.
So 1st place from the CS:S comp plays the 1st place of the CS 1.6 comp for 1st and 2nd place, 2nd place from the 2 versions play off for 3rd place.
I know some of you may not like this idea, but its the fairest way to do it.
31 Comments December 10th 05:08pm by A
Ok ladies and gents heres the official list.
CS 1.6 OR Source. It will be decided later but it is NOT a priority comp.
Bf2 8 V 8
Fear*
Quake 4 duel
Quake 3 duel*
Quake 3/4 CTF or RA3*
Warcraft 3 1v1 (TFT or ROK to be decided by the players who register)
Jedi Outcast CTF*
DOD: Source*
Splinter cell chaos theory*
worms world party*
Quake world duel*
Mario kart DS*
Comps marked with a * will run ONLY if there is enough interest
If people want some other comps I am more than happy to run them provided there is enough interest. Obviously there is a lack of flavour in RTS games here, so if you want it once again let me know.
Prizes TBA. 39 Comments November 17th 11:53am by shogun
Ok as its getting close to time to start organising competitions for the upcoming LAN we're asking for some input from you guys so we know what to run and what to allocate prizes to. We've just put up a poll over there on the left <--- for you to vote in. If theres an option you want added to it, just post about it on thread below this news item. 1 Comments November 9th 10:34am by Sgt_RaVeN

hey all,
Got a new lan group doing a lan in Dandenong, well organised, good venue, great kickin network. It’s called Miscreant LAN. Lan #1 is for 60players. They provide network cables and power boards for everyone, all laid out when you get there. Anyway all are welcome but if you’re in the area defiantly come down.
